Earth Batteries can provide enough electrical potential and current to recharge the NiMH batteries in the task light. The technical requirements can be satisfied. Although a full prototype capable of charging batteries was not constructed and tested at this time, experiments showed that EB technology, last common in the early days of telegraphy, has promise for a new niche application for recharging batteries for task lights and other electronic equipment in off-grid regions.
