About Atmoswater™ Research
Principal
Roland V. Wahlgren, B.Sc., M.A., Physical Geographer ORCID ID: orcid.org/0000-0002-8308-6422 I am a physical geographer and a scientific & technical consultant. Consulting assignments have often focused on innovative water supply technologies. During the past several years I gained considerable practical experience by designing and constructing drinking-water-from-air systems with associated water treatment systems. Earlier, field work in the Canadian Arctic islands and Beaufort Sea provided experience in applied geomorphology, hydrology, and oceanography. Published research about ice-scour tracks on the Beaufort Sea continental shelf and atmospheric water vapour processing systems applied principles from all facets of physical geography, including climatology. I learned about many more aspects of natural history while serving as Contents Editor of the Nature Vancouver's journal Discovery for several years during the 1990's. My prior business career included fifteen years as a Managing Director of a family-owned industrial distribution firm. As an inventor, I was the Winning Solver for the InnoCentive Challenge: High throughput assay for determining degradation (2008). During 2009-2010 I spent an interesting and productive 14 months working with BC Hydro as a Load Research Analyst doing research directed towards developing a better understanding of relationships between electrical energy demand and regional climates. For ten months during 2011-2012 I was a contractor for BC Hydro, managing their Residential End-Use Metering Project Phase 3 through to the operational stage. In 2020 I served in the ASSE 1090 Working Group for the Performance Requirements for Drinking Water Atmospheric Water Generators (AWG): ASSE Standard #1090-2020. For several years I have concentrated on adding value to the water-from-air industry with my businesses, Atmoswater Research (research, consultancy) and Canadian Dew Technologies Inc. (research & development).
