From the Summary section:
An acoustic method is used to sense grain mass flow rate, thereby eliminating two sources of errors in the current mass sensing system. Acoustic properties of flowing grain are independent of grain mass variations related to moisture content. Therefore, measurement errors resulting from moisture content are eliminated. By calibrating mass flow rate to acoustic properties corresponding to the actual flow of the grain as it leaves the unloading auger discharge spout rim (just before falling into a wagon), measurement errors arising from mechanical changes in the paddles are also eliminated.

Seeker's comments:
Accuracy is questionable. It is not clear that sound pressure level highly correlated with flow rate and independent of moisture and other crop properties. Appears very sensitive to small system changes. No supporting data to help validate concept. No explanation is given of how solver thinks this concept will meet accuracy requirements.
